About The Gold Price

The Gold Price is an independent reference site for gold, silver, platinum, and palladium prices. We aggregate data from public markets and exchanges so individual investors, jewelry buyers, and savers can see a clean, comparable number without a trading account.

What we publish

How we source data

Every number on the Site is derived from publicly available market data. Spot prices update at market intervals; local prices are computed from the spot feed and a current exchange rate. We publish the update timestamp on every price so you can see when the number was last refreshed.

Upstream APIs can be temporarily stale or incorrect. When prices look out of line, always verify against the source before acting on them. Every source we use is listed on our Data Sources & Methodology page.

How we make money

The Gold Price is supported by affiliate commissions from precious-metals dealers, storage providers, and online marketplaces we link to. Commissions never cost you extra and do not influence which prices we display — the same data pipeline runs regardless of whether we have a commercial relationship with a provider. See the Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Who we write for

Individual savers, jewelry buyers, and long-term holders — people who want a straight answer to "what is an ounce of gold worth today, in my currency, right now" without a Bloomberg terminal or a trading account. We keep the product lean and the numbers clearly sourced so every figure has a clear provenance.

Independence

We operate independently, without outside investors, and never sell user data. Our focus is a single question — "what is this metal actually worth right now?" — and everything we publish is in service of answering it honestly.
